In 2021, Companion completed a 16,000sqft mass timber CLT new head office space for Fast + Epp Structural Engineers.

The hybrid mass timber, concrete and steel structured building uses new technology in building element design, smart glazing and advanced building control systems to produce a highly efficient and elegant space. A design approach that uses structural elements in their true form as architectural features exemplifies the unique nature of Fast + Epp as a global leader in mass timber design. In consultation with interior design architects, Companion has installed high spec finishes that compliment the unique structural elements such as the soaring interconnected floor space atrium, glass enclosed board room, meeting rooms and private offices and custom millwork.

Stairwells constructed of mass timber wall/floor panels with custom fabricated steel and concrete stair units along with a custom perforated guard wall tie all floors together in a bespoke space that offers a great alternative to taking the elevator.
